Appeal for communication rights’ mobilisation in 2005

Aim of the proposed action  :

To affirm communication and information as fundamental human rights and call for mobilisation around a common agenda for action, identifying major communication rights priorities for 2005

Action to achieve this aim  :

1- In the context of WSIS (World Summit on Information Society) promote a campaign to put spotlight on communications rights of freedom of expression in Tunisia, host country in november 2005

2- Support strong international convention to promote and defend cultural diversity under debate in UNESCO, opposing attemps to include the cultural and media sector in WTO and other free trade agreements
