Memoria Viva: "The project of Social Forums's memory"
Memoria Viva is a project borned in the "Contained and Methodology Commission" of the World Social Forum's International Council, during the meeting of April 2004 which took place in Italia.
Memoria Viva's objective is to facilitate a more direct access to the memory of the Social Forums already realized and to stimulate the creation of a more propositive memory for the next social forums. This will help the free articulation of the iniciatives between the organisations which are engaged as part of a more permanent process, not only centralized on the events.
Immediate goal has been to complete for the 2005 World Social Forum, a system to organize "Walls of Proposals", that it allows the organizations to present, display, consult and articulate their proposals more easily, before, during and after each Social Forum, in order to construct other possible worlds.
The organizers of next Social Forums will be able, if they wish it, to take advantage of the experience of the 2005WSF and this Web, in order to create their own Walls of Proposals. In the next weeks a brief guide will be presented in this page. It could be consulted to organize Walls of Proposals, from the experience carried out in Porto Alegre 2005.
From this page it will be soon possible to have access to most of the pages of the World, Regional and Thematic Social Forums' memory already realized. It is possible yet to attain the proposals of World Social Forum 2005 and Mediterranean Social Forum (in Barcelona).
To construct a Memory in the next Forums
The Wall of Proposals is the basis of a Social Forums' memory that allows to convert them into a world process of free permanent articulation between the organizations, in order to promote transforming actions jointly.
The memory also wants to gather and to emphasize other basic formats, others that the proposals, in order to facilitate forums and organizations' intercommunication. Following the participative approach of the World Social Forum, the organizations, in the next weeks, will be able to publish for each Social Forum:
- The synthesis of the activities realized
- the presence in mass media,
- the most suggestive photos and videos
- the sonorous recordings of the activities
In order to participate in Memoria Viva, you can: - Support the project (resources, volunteers...)
- Facilitate the Web connection to the Social Forums' memory
- Know how a Social Forum can publish its proposals and memory in this Web
